I know this post has nothing to do with the Moog Sub 37, but it’s about a problem that nagged me for a while and that kept me from updating my studio computer to OS X El Capitan: The lack of driver Mackie Onyx support for the latest versions of OS X.It’s a shame, the Onyx (I have the 1620i) is a really cool mixer that sounds good and gives me a lot of freedom when recording sessions or producing something on my own. For some reason Mackie doesn’t seem to be willing to spend the money to have their drivers certified by Apple. Until OS X Mavericks the Onyx would work fine, then after updating to OS X Yosemite, it wouldn’t be recognized by the system anymore. For OS X Yosemite, the fix was easy:. Open the Terminal. Type.
Sudo nvram boot - args = 'kext-dev-mode=1'. Press Enter. Reboot the computerThis would disable the Signed Kernel Extension mode of OS X and allow the driver to be loaded again. But after an update to OS X El Capitan, however, the mixer would again stop working and not be recognized by the system. It turns out, disabling the Signed Kernel Extension mode like described above is not possible anymore in El Capitan. Very frustrating. Thankfully, a brought me a working solution (successfully tested on a MacBook Pro). For OS X El Capitan, the fix is:.

Reboot the computer. When the boot sound is heard, press and hold CMD+R to enter recovery mode. After booting the recovery mode is finished, open the Terminal from the menu.
Type. Hi Rob, do you ever had crackles and latency when recording? For some reason this problem keeps forever with my mackie onyx. The latency only is in the recorded tracks of my drumcomputer. The crackles comes always any time when recording from a synth(moog sub 37, minilogue.) I use my mackie only as input device.

Akai EIE as output device. System Mac mini(fusion drive) EL CAPITAN. I already red some forums that the mac minis are just nod good enough for high audio processing?
But i can not believe this is the problem.ps: crackles mostly come when i turn on the knobs of my moog.
